CoreCD 5.1 Beta
Mitch aka dontpanic has done a fantastic job in putting together the 5.1 beta 1 cd. I fired this up today and it worked great. I had a couple hickups with an emerge -upDN world, but easily solvable with two USE flags and selecting the proper profile. Another issue got reported with the x86 version, but all minor.
We didn’t get the 5.0 core-cd out and the work on 5.1 rolled in very quickly, so we figured it would be best to wait for the 5.1 mainline to settle down than build a core-cd. It’s a win win situation even tho people had to wait a bit longer.
Testing team is still waiting for beta 2 of the 5.1 mini-dvds. We decided to also update it some more, so Fabio had to rebuild the isos. It will have the latest KDE 4.3.3 and Gnome 2.28 desktop environments. It will have the latest kernel fixes also, like the cups thing. Remember if you are doing your equo world, you should of seen an install for the kernel so you are also getting the latest stuff and fixes. Woot!
We appreciate everyone’s patience in our releases.
